About Masjid Akhoondji

Built: Believed 600–700 years old (community/Waqf Board claim)

A small masjid with traditional Indo-Islamic features in historic Mehrauli, one of Delhi's oldest settlements, with a madrasa and graveyard attached.

Children studying at the madrasa were displaced overnight. The masjid's age and the manner of its removal drew wide national and international coverage.
