Masjid Garib Nawaz Al Maroof

Near tehsil compound, Ram Sanehi Ghat, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

“Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.”

— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:156)

About Masjid Garib Nawaz Al Maroof

Built: About 100 years old, pre-Independence (Waqf Board / residents' claim)

A neighbourhood masjid beside the tehsil offices on the Barabanki–Ayodhya highway, recorded with the Sunni Waqf Board.

A local lawyer said he had prayed there for over three decades. Its removal during the pandemic lockdown made it one of the first widely reported losses of a masjid in the 2020s.
